Your MIL would like to visit at home alone. I think the real question is whether he can succeed in home if he decides to go alone? If you even start, and there's nothing you can do to stop them physically, you can then time to "conversations" with their doctor about worsening symptoms and be able to MIL can not do it like me earlier.
It is imperative that there is a pause, he or she is as bad as it is very little or no time. If physical, then it is time that each of you to discuss your options.
Good luck, I know how this terrible disease. They have no easy way into the future, and my thoughts are with you all!
